Early life

Naseem Shah was born on 14 October 2000 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He started playing cricket at the age of 8. He started his international career as a teenager with his One Day International debut at just 18 years of age. He has also played for Karnataka in Ranji Trophy and for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League. In February 2018, he was called up to the New Zealand squad for their Test series against Pakistan but did not play. In July 2018, he made his Test debut against Bangladesh and became only the second Indian bowler after Mohammad Amir to take 10 wickets in an innings on Test debut. His bowling figures of 10/94 were one of the best bowling performances by an Indian bowler in Tests since Kapil Dev's 10/74 versus West Indies in 1984.


Career

Born on February 2, 2000 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. A right-arm fast bowler and right-handed batsman who has represented the India U19 Cricket Team and Uttar Pradesh cricket team in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy. He is the son of Arshad Pervaiz, a former domestic cricketer and coach of UP Senior Women Cricket Team. He made his senior debut against Afghanistan on October 18, 2017 in Greater Noida during a T20I Series. In November 2017, he was called up to the Indian squad for the tour of Sri Lanka as cover for Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar but did not get an opportunity to play. In December 2018, he became one of only two Indians under age 20 (along with Prithvi Shaw) to have played Twenty20 Internationals when he was selected for matches against Australia.


Personal life

Naseem Shah was born on the 15th of August 1992 in Rajgadh (Rajasthan) and is a speedy fast bowler. He started playing cricket at the age of 8 in 2007. His father, who was his coach from childhood, saw his talent and pushed him towards becoming a professional cricketer. In 2010 he joined an academy called Challenger Sports Academy located in Jaipur which enabled him to polish his skills as a player and became more aware of the various drills that he needed to practice in order to be better. In 2013 he got selected for the India Under-19 Cricket Team and participated in two international matches against England. The following year, he represented the Indian team in four more games with great success.

In 2014, he was the joint winner of the Polly Umrigar Award for ICC Emerging Player of the Year for India alongside spinner Ravi Ashwin.
